PTFE-Expansion Joints
PTFE-expansion joint by “Kompenz” – is a necessary thing in conditions of elevated vibration, pipeline displacements while transporting ultra-aggressive environment: hundred-per-cent concentrated sulphuric acid (H2SO4 ), nitrogen (HNO3 ), hydrofluoric acid (HF) and so on.
According to its chemical resistance to aggressive environment, PTFE-expansion joints exceed all known synthetic materials and metals, is not destroyed under the impact of alkalis,acids and even a mixture of nitric and hydrochloric acids. The only exception is molten alkaline metals (natrium, kalium) and fluorine-containing substances in gaseous state; in all other cases PTFE-expansion joints by “Kompenz” have the best operating parameters.
PTFE-expansion joints by “Kompenz” have high heat and frost resistance, they stay flexible and elastic under the temperature from -110 to +350 °C, they are not flammable. Due to specific design features of the corrugated part the expansion joint perceives operating pressure from fine vacuum up to 25 atmospheres with nominal drift diameter from 15 to 1200 mm.
PTFE-expansion joint by “Kompenz” is a unique device. Particular flexibility of the material allows the expansion joint to perceive significant axial, lateral and angular displacements, impact and vibration load.
Distinctive feature of PTFE-expansion joints by “Kompenz” is their antifriction properties with the least friction coefficient among all known and available construction materials.
Due to particular chemical properties and design features PTFE-expansion joints are not exposed to fatigue, they don’t lose their operating characteristics under long-term influence of cyclic stresses and displacements.
