By the middle of 2005 our company designed several complex projects in pipeline systems using various types of compensation devices. Our products were featured in more than 30 exhibitions in Russia and CIS countries. So what is an “EXPANSION JOINT”?
EXPANSION JOINT - an expansion joint is a “living thing”, which is capable to perceive and compensate all pipeline displacements by its own “body” when different substances are moving inside the pipes. It compensates thermal expansion caused by heating the walls of the pipeline by operating environment; it also functions as environment divider or and as hermetic seal. It puts out some vibration caused by the pipeline (pumping) equipment operation and perceives pipes displacement in case of soil or pipeline supports subsidence. Expansion joints prolong the pipeline lifetime. Only the expansion joint which is designed, manufactured and assembled correctly can solve necessary compensation problems!
For more efficiency in pipeline systems we would recommend you the following types of expansion joints:
- Lens expansion joints by “Kompenz” are of two types: round and rectangular cross sections. They are made of different types of steel with nominal diameter from 50 to 5000 mm. They are mainly used in oil-refining, chemical and gas industries for compensating thermal lengthening of heat exchange and gas turbine equipment cases, in dust, gas and air pipes and ventilation systems.
- Bellows expansion joints by “Kompenz” (multilayer), with diameter from 15 to 6000 mm are used in all branches of machinery, oil and gas mining and refinery, in thermal networks, multistoried building constructions and vehicles. They are capable to work in the most severe conditions with operating environment temperatures from -240°С to 1000°С and perceive operating pressures from vacuum up to 200 atmospheres depending on the construction and operating conditions.
- Rubber expansion joints by “Kompenz” (anti-vibration inserts) with diameter from 15 to 4200 mm are installed in water cooling, water and gas supply systems at plants, in compressors, pumps, turbines and boilers for compensating big thermal displacements, eliminating oscillation, vibration and noise, and for absorbing hydraulic impacts. Maximum operating temperature is 130 C, maximum operating pressure is 16 atmospheres.
- Fabric expansion joints by “Kompenz” of rectangular or round cross sections are made of heat proof, chemical resistant materials with sizes up to 8000 mm. They have a wide range of use, for example, when it is necessary to provide hermetic compensation of pipeline displacements and protect movable units from dust, moist and other undesirable environmental factors. They are also used for gas, dust and air pipes, where there is low pressure and big operating displacements.
- Metal hoses by “Shlangenz” (corrugated metal hoses) - are metal, highly elastic hermetic joints of bellows type which are designed for transporting liquids and gases used in different conditions.
- High pressure hoses made of rubber and multilayer elastic materials.
All production is approved and certified by GOST of Russia and has permission for use from Federal Technological Supervision Service.
